Frequently

Asked

Questions

  • How much do you charge?
Each session costs £60 and lasts 50 minutes. You can pay for sessions via bank transfers (I will email you details if we agree this form of payment). Each online payment must be payed 48 hours before your session is due. You can also pay cash at the end of each session. Initial (first) session must be paid at the time of booking. This payment will ensure that the slot you have booked with me is not released to anyone else. This payment is non-refundable.
  • Where are you located?
I see my clients for face to face appointments in Crawley, West sussex. However, if you would like to work online (I use two online platforms: Microsoft Teams and Whereby ) you can be anywhere in the UK. Access to face to face appointments is very easy. If you travel by car, there is free layby parking in front of the property. If you travel by bus, Bus n.1 stops near Tesco Express which is 2 minute walking distance to the property. Please be aware that unfortunatelly I am not able to provide disabled access. There are stairs leading up to the property and my counselling room is situated on the first floor.
  • What happens after I contact you?
After our initial contact either via email or on the phone, we arrange to have your initial assessment session. The session lasts 50 minutes (as any other counselling session) and can be arranged either face to face , online or over the phone. This will depend on which way of working you will choose. This session is important as it gives you the opportunity to meet me and see whether I am the right counsellor for you. After the initial session I will invite you to have a little think at home and decide whether you would like to work with me or not. Once I hear back from you, we will arrange further regular sessions.
  • How do I make an appointment?
You can either call me on 07 429 255 636 or email me at: denisa@crawleybereavementcounselling.co.uk or alternatively fill out my booking form. I aim to respond to each new enquiry within 24 hours. If you don't see an email back from me within this time scale, please check your spam folder too. Currently, I do not hold a waiting list for new enquires.
  • Do you offer online or telephone counselling?
Yes, I do. And it is your choice to choose which way you'd prefer to receive therapy. When we agree on phone counselling I will call you at the prearranged time and day. For my online sessions I use two platforms: Microsoft Teams and Whereby which are both secure and easy to use. After we agree that our work will take place online, I will email you an online link that you click on and this will take you to our session. When using your mobile phone for online sessions, please download the teams app onto your phone, register and we are good to go. You do not need an app to use Whereby. As the therapy will take place while you are at home or work, please assure that you are able to have confidential space. It is advised to wear headphones so no one can overhear me (the therapist) talking to you. Payments for telephone or online sessions are conducted via bank transfers. All payments must be payed 48 hours before session is due to commence.
  • How many sessions will I need?
This is a very hard question to answer. Everyone has different needs for counselling and everyone moves at different pace. When I see my clients for counselling sessions I will often do mini reviews with them to determine how they think the therapy is going, what they have found helpful so far and so on. The mini reviews are done at session number 4 to 6 and then at session number 12 and so on. We can talk in more details about this at your initial assessment session.
  • Is counselling confidential?
Everything you say during our counselling sessions is confidential. However, there are some exceptions to confidentiality and I will discuss those at our initial assessment session with you.
  • Do you work evenings and weekends?
Currently I only offer appointments from Monday till Friday, from 9.30 am till 3 pm. Unfortunately I do not work at weekends.
  • How often would I come to therapy?
We start with weekly sessions which is ideal for developing therapeutic relationship and trust. It allows you, the client, to feel emotionally safe and to start working at a deeper emotional level which contributes towards healing and growth. After certain amount of sessions, we can make the decision to space out your sessions to every other week.
  • Why is bereavement counselling a good idea?
We are all different and while some people will try and deal with their grief their own way, some might struggle. Counselling offers confidential and safe space for you to talk. You might feel very alone in your grief or you might have experienced sudden or complex grief such as suicide loss, pregnancy or infant loss or any other significant loss. Losses can trigger emotional response that might be very difficult to cope with. Together we will explore everything that is going on for you.
